The Economics Students’ Association (ESA) is a USC-ratified student-run organization designed to not only provide academic support for economics students, but also to advance their non-curricular knowledge and economic interests. Throughout the year, the ESA hosts numerous pre-exam study sessions, social events, guests speakers, recruiters nights, vocational tutorials, and general meetings.
At these general meetings, international market analysts will recap and explain the effects of world events upon their respective commodities, rates, and projections. It is here that ESA members will learn to understand why world trade markets work the way they do, and familiarize themselves with common techniques and sources for watching the world economy. After these tutorials, professors and students provide help sessions for all members.
Your ESA membership will increase your awareness of opportunities and careers for professional economists upon graduation. The Economics Students Association is dedicated to enhancing the educational atmosphere for all students of economics at The University of Western Ontario. The Association seeks to enrich the academic community by stimulating an environment with a balance of social and intellectual life. By pursuing these objectives, the Association endeavours to maintain and promote the world-wide reputation of Western’s Department of Economics.
